I am a 58 year old Grandmother, born in Sherbourne, Dorset, England, but raised in Rugby, Warwickshire, England, where I attended school and college….Did a lot of traveling through Europe…both my parents were from Poland and came to England towards the end of the 11 World War, up until I was about 6 we live in a refugee camp in a little country town called Lubenham, Leicestershire…..needless to say I speak both English and Polish……we only talked Polish at home since my Dad had a very hard time in learning the English language. I was on holiday in Naples, Italy, when I met this American Navy man…he followed me home and we married.……I had 3 children and divorced after 21yrs.
Then out of the blue I met this Englishman, it was strange, you are half way across the world away from home and here stands a fellow countryman…..it was not easy at first, he seemed to have a bit of baggage hanging on, not that I didn’t either…slowly we made it together and now have been married for 13yrs…….Derek has a soft heart, but you have to look really hard to find it…sometimes he does these wonderful things when you least expect them, he has been much more than a Father to all 3 of my children and both him and I are raising my Grandson, Nicholas who has ADHD and is also Dyslexic.
